CNC machining:
Precision and quality at the highest level
The fully automated production and the use of modern machines provide the basis to efficiently manufacture high-quality products and offer them at favorable prices, even in the face of global competition. We manufacture CNC special parts and drawing parts in almost any geometry!
On our CNC lathes or automatic lathes we produce conventional as well as sophisticated automatic turned parts in small, medium and large series. In addition, our CNC milling machines produce milled parts in single, small and medium series.
Precision in series production is important to us, which we guarantee based on a continuously developed quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.

How does machining work?
Generally speaking, in CNC machining, material is removed from a blank in various ways by a tool cutting edge. This is therefore a subtractive technique. The chips thus produced as a waste product give this manufacturing technique its name. As a rule, metals are used, for example free-cutting steel. However, plastics and alloys can also be machined.
Before production begins, a CAD file is created. Our machining technicians convert this into a CNC file (CNC = Computerized Numerical Control) and set up the required machines accordingly. CNC machining thus features a high degree of automation and therefore scores points in terms of speed and accuracy.
At zwerenz industries, we specialize in milled parts and turned parts, which we manufacture in our halls using modern technology.
Advantages of CNC cutting
Especially in metalworking, machining is part of many production chains to bring cast or forged parts into the right shape. This manufacturing process has the following advantages:
- Precision with tight tolerances and consistent quality: a high degree of precision is possible with machining, which is a decisive advantage over other manufacturing technologies.
- Extensive automation, which makes it possible to manufacture parts in series at low cost. However, individual parts and prototypes can also be produced quickly and inexpensively.
Physical material properties are retained, nothing changes when the blank is processed.
CNC turned parts
Turning is a machining production technique. In this process, workpieces with simple geometry, with high demands on surface properties and shape accuracy are produced. It should be noted that CNC turning can only machine components with cylindrical shapes, for example shafts, bolts, spindles and axles.
These shapes are created by moving a single-edged tool, such as a turning chisel, along the rapidly rotating blank by means of feed. In the process, the cutting tool lifts off chips of a certain thickness until the desired shape of the turned part is created. The tool is moved by the feed force along three axes: forward/backward, right/left, up/down.
To further process the cylindrical turned part, another CNC machining technique is often used in a second step, such as milling.
What we can do in CNC Turning
We manufacture CNC precision turned parts as well as CNC automatic turned parts in small, medium and large series for our customers. Our machines process blanks up to three meters in length. No matter what shapes of turned parts you need, our skilled workers can deliver the highest quality with knowledge and experience.
Suitable materials for turned parts
We use conventional free cutting steel, which is especially suitable for CNC machining. Various stainless steel types, aluminum, copper and brass alloys are also well suited. In addition to these metals, however, various plastics can also be machined, such as rods made of ABS, PA, POM and polyester resin. In the case of plastics, it is particularly important to take into account the thermal and mechanical-technological properties of temperature and machining speed. Furthermore, we also process chrome alloys that are difficult to machine.
Machine parameters
Our machines for the production of turned parts have the following features:
- Turning diameter up to 220 mm
- Speed up to 6.300 rpm
- Milling, longitudinal and transverse operations
- Driven tools
- Front and back machining by main and counter spindle
- Bar loader for bars up to a length of 3 meters

CNC milled parts
While CNC turning produces cylindrical shapes, milling is suitable for the production of geometric parts. Depending on the machine, these can also be very complex. However, flat surfaces such as grooves or guides can also be machined well with milling machines. To machine a workpiece, it is fixed in a vice or on a machine bed. The tool rotates at high speed. It is equipped with several cutting edges. In this way, the cutting tool can machine the clamped blank in both vertical and oblique directions. In the process, the rotating cutting edges remove chips from the milled part until the desired shape is created.
What we can do at zwerenz industries
On our CNC milling machines we produce conventional as well as sophisticated milled parts in single, small and medium series. We produce geometrically simple 3-axis milled parts, which are machined in height, width and length by the milling cutter, up to complex 5-axis milled parts. Here, swiveling and rotating movements are added to the linear movement axes. This allows even faster and absolutely precise machining, since the workpiece does not have to be moved by hand.
Suitable materials for milled parts
As with CNC turning, we use conventional free-cutting steel, which has excellent properties for CNC machining. We also process various stainless steels, aluminum, copper and brass alloys. In addition, various plastics can be processed, such as bars made of ABS, PA, POM and polyester resin. It is necessary to take into account the thermal and mechanical-technological characteristics of temperature and processing speed. Furthermore, we can also process difficult-to-machine chrome alloys with the help of our machines without any problems.
